My name is Sofia Huber and I am passionate about soil health and regenerative agriculture as a form of climate change mitigation and a solution to restore our global food system. I plan to earn my Master's and PhD degrees in soil science.I am currently an Honors student at FGCU. During my time thus far I have completed my Honors Thesis, served as a Learning Assistant (LA), been selected as a WiSER student, and led my own research project as a volunteer and paid assistant researcher for the APS Laboratory for Sustainable Agriculture at FGCU. Additionally, I recently presented my manuscript "Comparative Analysis of Lactuca sativa Growth Using Compost Versus Conventional Soil" at the American Society for Horticultural Sciences conference in Honolulu, Hawaii. Over the next 12-14 months, I plan to continue working with Lipman Family Farms and my studies at FGCU. This manuscript has also been accepted by the Journal of Agricultural Sciences to be published by the end of this calendar year, as well as in the form of an extension fact sheet
