About Sofia Ismail Martin
Sofia is a producer at Misfits Entertainment where she first worked in 2017, as co-producer of the feature documentary McQueen, which was released in cinemas worldwide and nominated for two BAFTAs at the 2019 Film Awards, in the Outstanding British Film and Documentary categories. Previous to this, Sofia was a producer on BBC's flagship science series Horizon, BBC’s primetime health special Long Live Britain, Channel 5’s Inside Broadmoor and BBC One's Animals in Love.After McQueen, Sofia took some time away from the industry to raise her two young children. Upon her re-entry in to the industry in 2022, she was selected for the BAFTA Elevate Producers programme and also started in a new role at Misfits, where she is currently co-producing another feature documentary. Sofia also recently wrote and directed a series of short films for BBC Online exploring the British Asian experience.
