I am a third year undergraduate student studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Physics and a concentration in Energy Technologies and Sustainability. My primary interests lay within renewable energy development. Over the past few years in my undergraduate degree, I have been able to work in numerous areas. This past summer, I interned at MxV Rail, where I was able to learn about the civil and mechanical engineering applications to railways and rail systems. Railroads produce far less emissions than other means of transport, and railways in general are crucial for creating more walkable/environmentally-friendly communities. I have also participated in research at the University of Sydney and at Boston University for different solar panel applications. In Sydney, I was able to work with in CFD Software on ANSYS Fluent, where I modeled passive cooling scenarios for a solar panel and rooftop. At Boston University, I took part in research that worked to incline bifacial solar panels in order to maximize efficiency by capturing more diffuse light via reflectors. These experiences have shown me that I wish to continue to make systems more efficient and sustainable.
