I am a recent graduate of St. Johns University’s clinical mental health counseling Program with an MSED. I recently obtained my LPC. My education is primarily focused on psychology and clinical mental health counseling, but my extracurriculars have taught me many other areas of knowledge. My greatest passion is working with children, but have experience working with both adolescents and adults as well. I have worked with clients between the ages of 3 to 65 who suffer from schizophrenia, depression, anxiety, PTSD, Autism, ADHD, ODD, substance abuse, Adjustment disorder, etc. I have used a broad range of therapy techniques, such as person-centered therapy, CBT, Behavioral Therapy techniques, Solution-Focused therapy, psychoeducation, empty chair technique, role-playing, play therapy, mindfulness meditation/visualization techniques, grief counseling, narrative therapy, etc. Clients are individualized therefore I do not have a specific orientation, I utilize eclectic approaches. I utilize techniques that are within my scope of practice and assist the clients with meeting their goals and needs. I utilize my client’s strengths and connect them with resources in the community. I am a very hardworking individual and have learned throughout my education and working in the mental health field the importance of self-care to prevent exhaustion and burnout, so my self-care activities are listening/singing music, dancing, traveling, hiking, exercising, spending time with friends, family, and significant other, and watching movies. “We don’t grow when things are easy, we grow when we face challenges.”
