SJCC is taking on some of Silicon Valley’s toughest issues (while pausing to celebrate victories along the way). From the housing crisis and youth underemployment to inequality and a just transition, SJCC + CS addresses them all by working with young adults to develop their personal, professional and academic skills, while eliminating the barriers to their success. The work that corpsmembers take on during their time in these programs helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, prevent drought and wildfires, create more affordable housing, and ultimately make the Bay Area community and the environment more resilient.

• Managed 4 four multi-sectoral development grants on food security and livelihoods, climate change and disaster relief worth over $20 million, funded by European Union (EU), USAid and UN World Food Programme (WFP) respectively.• Liaised with government authorities, multilateral agencies, INGOs and local communities to build synergies and strengthen ACTED’s environment portfolio in Pakistan.• Timely development of reporting, project timelines, calendars, MOUs and budgets on quarterly, annual as well as adhoc basis. • Devised grant budgets that were in compliance with grant specifications and in line with ACTED’s organizational priorities.• Managed technical, narrative and financial proposal development for relevant funding opportunities in environment, climate change and gender.

• Led the strategic development of the Sustainable Development Investment Portfolio (SDIP) funded by the Australian Government, which focused on mainstreaming high level discourse on the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus in Pakistan.• Researched fundraising opportunities and developed proposals on food security, water resource management and environmental justice.• Initiated the program roll out through mapping of key local and international partners as well as donors.• Created a multi-stakeholder core group in Balochistan to mainstream the Water-Energy-Food (WEF) Nexus narrative in public policy and national discourse on water resource management• Organized program events such as policy workshops; and assisted in communicating with program affiliates.• Drafted communications material for a variety of audiences, including for online publications, newsletters and social media platforms.

• Supported project related events, including conference and trainings on women in WASH, sustainable urbanization, and indigenous people’s relation to water. • Carried out climate advocacy with Pakistani government, think tanks, academia and civil society.• Stayed abreast of development in the climate and water sector to inform policy analysis.• Developed communication materials such as infographics, social media newsletters and booklets on climate programs. • Managed technical, narrative and financial proposal development for relevant funding opportunities in environment, climate change and water resource management.
