I worked for Professor Chris Reed at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, in a project on data trusts, privacy and data protection. The research was part of the Cloud Legal Project funded by Microsoft Corporation.

My practice included a broad range of areas of law and industries. I was involved in corporate matters, including M&As and competition issues, public procurement, fintech issues as well as investment and commercial arbitration cases. Some of the matters include:* Legal advice to companies and financial institutions, including commercial and development banks, on notes offerings, project finance, loans and collateral agreements. * Legal advice to start-ups on crowdfunding and electronic payment activities. * Part of the team of lawyers representing States (particularly, Central Asian and Latin American countries) in investment arbitrations administered by the ICSID. In one of these cases, I attended a two-weeks hearing on pending jurisdictional issues and merits at the World Bank seat in Paris. * Appointed as Secretary of the Tribunal in an international construction arbitration administered by the ICC. This role enhanced my organisational skills which reflected on the efficient management of the case and issuance of the award in time. * Legal advice (pro bono) on a weekly basis to two Mexican NGOs that promote education and technology in the country. * Legal advice to the Mexican Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) in the conduction of bidding procedures for the exploration and production in deep-waters oil fields. * Legal advice to a major retailer UK company to enter into the supply of gasoline in the Mexican market. Since the deal involved more than one thousand petrol stations (usually one legal entity per petrol station) it required authorisation from COFECE (competition authority in Mexico). We advised on the filing with COFECE as well as on the negotiation and execution of the transactional documentation.
