I was in charge of coordinating 7 lifeguards from different parts of staff, including liaising with their coordinators when they were available. I was also solely responsible for the safety and open and close of the waterfront and boating front. With the campers, I also coordinated fun activities for them including water games and boat races. I attended a 1 hour meeting every day to discuss the running of the waterfront as well as the well-being and work ethic of the staff. Coordinating my peers was a bit of a challenge however I developed a good boundary of professionalism and lighthearted fun.Working at camp is a tiring job so keeping up morale was crucial, so I would do activities for them i.e., do a lifeguard swim, take them out boating, or open the waterfront at sunset so they could stargaze on the dock; by the end of the summer we became a really close-knit team. Following this role I spent 4 weeks travelling.
