Sofia is an experienced, multi-disciplinary professional with a unique blend of technical, scientific and stakeholder management skills in the pharmaceutical industry. She is passionate about using data to solve complex challenges and improve healthcare.As an Associate Director at AstraZeneca, Sofia specialises in making the best use of healthcare data to inform clinical trials and accelerate drug development. She has a background in both healthcare and tech, having worked for clinical AI start-up Sensyne Health as well as Amazon. Sofia holds a PhD on the role of DNA damage in cancer radiotherapy, completed via the Interdisciplinary Bioscience Doctoral Training Partnership led by the University of Oxford.She enjoys supporting women in their early STEM careers as a facilitator of the Oxbridge programme RisingWISE, and is an invited speaker at the Royal Society and University of Oxford.
