In this position, I work on research concerning HPV in adolescent girls and young women in New York City. My responsibilities include conducting visits with research participants, recruiting new participants, and managing research data, as well as various administrative tasks such as assembling research materials, organizing and uploading research documents, scheduling patient visits.In this role, I am developing skills such as attention to detail, collaboration, data management, and communication with both colleagues and patients. Also, because this research is being conducted within a health care facility, I have become well versed in various programs such as RIS, Epic, Cerner, and Microsoft Access.This role allows me to combine my passions for public health research, health equity, health education, adolescent health.

In this position, I am responsible for many of the Development Department's administrative tasks, including data management, constituent and social media research, printing, scanning, and uploading documents, and sending mail.I used my attention to detail and organization skills to help me become well versed in CRM technology and Excel, allowing me to manage constituent and donor data effectively and efficiently.Additionally, I have been involved in writing content for Human Rights First, such as acknowledgement letters, research profiles, outreach emails, and social media posts.

In this role, I trained college students to teach health education in public high school classrooms in New York City. This involved leading facilitation workshops, managing a group of volunteers, and some curriculum creation and implementation. I also acted as a leader and mentor for the volunteers who I managed, answering any questions they had and addressing any of their concerns.A large part of this position involved observing volunteers as they were teaching, and providing them with constructive and beneficial feedback. I learned to frame feedback in a way that was encouraging, but also fostered improvement and motivation to continuously strive to be a better facilitator.This position allowed me to foster my leadership, communication, and organization skills. I learned to be a competent, strong, and trustworthy leader, how to communicate and collaborate not only with those I was managing but with other leaders, and how to manage multiple schedules at once.

In this role, I provided health education at public high schools in New York City. I facilitated weekly workshops on topics such as mental health, sexual health, substance use, and accessing health resources. Working with other health educators, I acted as a resource, educator, and confidant to high school students.As a health educator, I fostered skills such as teamwork, organization, public speaking, and problem solving. I was also able to gain valuable education experience, and learned how to provide individualized care to students.This role taught me the importance of education and health equity, and sparked my passion for health education and working with young people to ensure that they are able to be autonomous in their own health.

In this role, I provided support to the development and fundraising efforts of SHOFCO. This included administrative responsibilities, database management, constituent research and outreach, event planning, and creating written content for the organization such as grant applications and newsletters.Through this experience, I learned about non-profit management, how to create fundraising campaigns, and how to use CRM technology. I was also able to hone my writing, communication, collaboration, and research skills, and tailor this knowledge to a non-profit setting.

In this role, I worked to research New York City and State politics, policies, and demographics, and condense and re-write the information so it was easily understandable to all. My responsibilities included researching, fact-checking, writing website and social media content, and managing data.This experience allowed me to gain skills such as attention to detail, organization, professional writing, and data management.
