Mistra Arctic Futures in a Global Context is a research programme within social sciences and humanities, funded by Mistra 2011-2013 and coordinated by... me! I was in charge of joint activities between five different research projects based mainly in Stockholm and Umeå, but with project members in Canada, Russia, Norway and Finland. This meant that:- I lead, coordinated and arranged programme meetings, conferences and seminars. I represented the programme on different arenas and to varying target groups such as decision makers, media, policy and research actors.- I was in charge of the overall communication and had a budget for it. I lead and worked together with consultants for graphic design, strategic communication and events. - I updated the web site www.arcticfutures.se and I tweeted on https://twitter.com/MistraArcticFut. I was also the editor of the programme's year report. - I worked with the programme board to make the funder's vision and the projects' research meet.Working language was English. And I truly enjoyed being a part of the work for a sustainable Arctic.

This governmental agency provides research logistics for Swedish scientist who need to go to the polar regions for their work. They also give expert support to other authorities about polar issues and promote polar cooperation and knowledge. I was the editor of the impressive yearbook and other publications. I did public events, media work, exhibitions and lectures for the public. One of my professional peaks in the agency was in the role of deputy expedition leader for a polar research expedition (LOMROG), for 5 weeks in the High Arctic in August–September 2007. The focus of the Swedish-Danish expedition was mainly marine geology and we used the Swedish icebreaker Oden to travel in areas where no surface vessels had ever been before. It was beautiful, and a great experience in many ways.My best professional award was the Swedish Publishing Prize for the Yearbook 2011. I wrote technical and marketing documents in English and Swedish for the world's best linguistically enhanced search engine. (Which no one wanted to buy, unfortunately, but that wasn't due to the technical information available.) I also did customer sales presentations and arranged marketing events. Fun!

I worked as a consultant within technical information. This included documenting computer systems and writing user instructions how to work in new and/or enhanced systems and interfaces, translating instructions for handling of technical products from English/Norwegian/Danish into Swedish. I worked with Information Mapping and in various XML-editors for large documentation bodies. Interesting!

At Docendo I edited, tested and layouted educational books about Microsoft's Office-programs and other common software products. I was also contact point for the Swedish national computer term network, updated Lotus Notes databases and wrote the internal and external newsletters.
