The Dish Wisconsin is a 100% student-run magazine on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. I began as a writer, then became an editor, and eventually assumed the position of Editor-in-Chief my senior year. I managed a team of 15 students that created a printed magazine once a semester. The Dish also runs its own website, Facebook, and Instagram. Working as Editor-in-Chief gave me incredible experience in magazine writing, editing, photography, and publishing. The experience was also a powerful lesson in how to direct and cultivate a team.

As an intern for the APCSS, I assisted the faculty of the College of Security Studies prepare and execute courses on security that brought together participants across the world. My role included behind the scenes work using Microsoft Teams to ensure the online workshops proceeded smoothly as well as participating in and facilitating conversation among the course participants.

During my time at Woodhill Country Club I worked both in the tennis shop and on the tennis courts as a junior tennis program instructor. Throughout my years at the country club, I took on more responsibility in the tennis shop. My responsibilities included ensuring the court reservations were in order, keeping the shop clean and tidy, and helping members with whatever they needed. As a junior tennis program instructor, I received feedback from both the tennis professionals and parents that I helped improve the kids’ tennis game and created a positive, fun atmosphere at tennis practice.
