I am currently completing my Biomedical science degree at King's College London.I moved to London in 2018 and faced many challenges, two of which shaped me into who I am today: starting a completely different life 1700km away from what I knew as my home at 14 years old and facing the abrupt change to a demanding academic curriculum. Through hardwork and perseverance I got into the Sixth Form of my dreams. I spent the next two years meeting people from all over the world, challenging myself intellectually and growing everyday, getting further than I ever thought I could. With all the endless opportunities presented to me I immersed myself in them: I started a Sign Language and Basketball club, taught Spanish to teachers and students, took part in MUN and succesfully ran for sustainability prefect. After two wonderful years, I achieved my International Baccalureate (IB) Diploma in 2022.After starting my teaching experience in Sixth form I decided to start working as a GCSE tutor while studying; which eventually lead me to complete a TEFL certification.A glimpse of who I am outside of academia:- I love travelling; I am planning to spend 2-3 months in East Asia teaching English- Playing the piano is a passion of mine; I attended a conservatoire for 5 years - I really enjoy learning new languages and I was fortunate enough to study French, my fourth language, at GCSE and IB level- I adore animals and exploring nature. I recently went on a 5 day-long camping trip to Snowdonia National Park, Wales (FYI it was harder than expected).Looking forward to connecting with new people :)- Sofia
