I also worked closely with suppliers, design agencies, and internal conception team to create fully functional 3D printed prototypes. Throughout my time here, I developed entrepreneurial, decision making, and problem solving skills related to packaging design, while also attended weekly team meetings with Marketing, Development, and Brand Leads to issue recommendations related to packaging performance and feasibility.

At Johnson & Johnson, I was able to learn about the process of Package Development and the responsibility of a Package Engineer. There, I supported the package development process of new product global launches within the brands of Neutrogena, Aveeno, and Clean & Clear. I attended weekly team meetings, consisting of various groups within the company, such as Marketing, Product Development, Quality, etc., as well as with suppliers and manufacturing sites as a member of a cross-functional team. I initiated, built, and routed specifications for primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging components. I organized and assisted in line trials for cosmetic packaging to ensure manufacturability of the products. Here, I really developed project and timeline management and communication skills, along with techniques to packaging testing. I participated in Scientists in the Making, a high school outreach program to encourage young girls to choose a STEM major. I also received my Yellow Belt Certification in Lean Six Sigma, a certification that specializes on the efficiency and improvement of projects.

I performed laboratory testing (weight loss/stability-compatibility, vibration/drop tests, decoration testing, etc.) on cosmetic components and finished goods from brands such as NARS, Bare Escentuals, and Shiseido. I created specifications explaining how to assemble components and finished goods to production workers and suppliers. I issued standards for Quality department to inspect. I interacted with the NARS New York City headquarters to receive approval and feedback on folding cartons, bottom labels, shade labels, and finished goods components. I created models of cosmetic components by 3D printing through the use of programs such as Catalyst and Solidworks.
