I am a Native Spanish speaker with expertise in English, and madly passionate about languages.I'm all for empirical learning, I think it is the best way to understand, not only the language itself, but how the native speakers actually think, and see things differently through their language. I am all for empiric learning. Most of my training has been that way, listening to songs, watching movies and series with different accents, and researching what I don't understand. This process has, and still is very nutritious to my education. I think of translation as a job that requires a passion for understanding others, researching, and learning constantly.From my experience working for 6 months as a translator for Orato.World magazine, translating and editing 1st person stories from people worldwide. I've learned to research whatever is necessary to be loyal to the original content to, successfully communicate the subject's feelings and experiences. Furthermore, I recently completed a job translating from English to Spanish a collection of short stories by O. Henry from 1919. As they contain slang and expressions typical of the time; it required extensive research, and historical context understanding to capture the author's idea in every story and the characters he brought to life.On the other hand, I have also been working as a QA on Accenture in a Global Payroll Project. Apart from performing technical tasks, I also performed as a volunteer to help my coworkers improve their English skills; as well as provide training, in English, about the project we were working on to the India team.As for my writer side, I am currently finishing a couple of interviews that you'll be able to read on my portfolio, and planning to write some Op. Ed articles as well.My goal is to keep finding challenges that make me grow and improve myself as a translator. And, though my expertise is in English, I'm also improving my French to broaden my scope of work.
