My name is Sofia Cupertino and I am 19 years old. I grew up in the Fayetteville area and have always wanted to pursue a creative career. In 2017 I began taking photos on an old family camera, which in a few years, led to me being well versed in the photography world. I won second place in the City of Fayetteville photography contest in 2019, and I have been documenting my photos online since. I started with sports photography in my senior year of high school and have had numerous professional experiences for outlets such as Kennesaw State University Athletics and freelance for Atlanta United. On the academic side, I am an honors scholar in many programs through my university such as an applied learning intern with the Journey Honors College and a first year scholar with the Office of Undergraduate Research. Being a photographer for many years has helped spark my passion for sports media. I am looking to continue my passion for taking photos of sports and learn through these experiences how to be a professional in this industry while also balancing my education towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Media and Entertainment.
