As a recent graduate from The College of New Jersey, Sofia has earned her bachelor's degree in public health, with a concentration in social behavioral sciences. After receiving a minor in Spanish during her undergraduate years, she pursued higher education and received her MPH degree at TCNJ. Her hopes include utilizing both her global health concentration and Spanish-speaking skills to advance health equity in Spanish speaking communities.Her immersive experience being abroad has provided her with a valuable global perspective that has opened her eyes to how culture and language, for example, uniquely intertwine to shape one's approach to health. As a passionate, driven and goal-oriented individual she is looking forward to pursuing opportunities that incorporate her love of health education and advocacy, that also allow her to strengthen her skillset and create more accessible and equitable healthcare. Both on a local and global level. Some of her passion projects involve working with youth on youth-centered initiatives pertaining to topics such as social-emotional learning, nutrition, and more
