In this position I develop both internal and external communication at Sysav- a waste management company owned by 14 municipalities in south Scania. To formulate messages and work strategic with public opinion, is an important part of my tasks, for example in the issue of Sysav importing waste from other countries. I work continuously to communicate corporate decisions and strategic plans into the organisation, for example by making a monthly newsletter to the managers. I give training and support to managers and project leaders. The support is for example in form of coaching in making communication plans and helping to process messages and texts. A few of the projects I support are about business development and change, as for example develop process orientation and implementing a new approach for purchases. I am also involved in a project to develop Sysav’s organisational culture.Above this I have a roll to develop and lead a new process at Sysav, to create awareness and influence behavior on sustainable consumption.

This position meant a shared leadership in a department consisting of 14 people – Communication Officers, educators and IT Technicians. I coordinated and led the development of communication and study visits, for instance by making a new communication strategy. In 2015 I was responsible for the communication of an extensive change in Sysav’s organisation, working close to the CEO and HR Manager. As a consequence of the new organisation my department became smaller and my position changed to Communication Strategist.

During these years I had a variety of assignments, including developing websites, editing internal and external newsletters, annual- and sustainability reports, Swedish and international study visits, etcetera. My first tasks were to fill the newly developed website with content and to coordinate and educate students who visited school classes with information about sorting waste. After having edited the staff magazine for a few years I saw to that it was replaced with information on the intranet and a more frequent newsletter to the managers. Together with the environmental coordinator I started up sustainability reporting and I was involved in a project to start collecting food waste. I was project manager for developing a new external web site and for a project using dialogue meetings to strengthen service culture in the company. In the end of the period my focus was mainly on internal communication.

I was responsible for the communication in an interregional EU-project about developing waste management. I coordinated the communication between the project partners in Sweden, Poland and Germany and planned the Final Conference in Szczecin. This was a part time work in parallel with my employment at Sysav.
