The ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advocate) Support Team looks after the new referrals and clients awaiting an ISVA. As part of this team, I was responsible to:- Process new referrals, put them onto the database as they come in and log them in the diary for an initial call- Stay in contact with clients who are yet to be allocated to an ISVA, assessing their needs and the support that they require from the service. - Flag to the management team anyone who I felt needed priority in terms of allocation- Liaise with police officers and other professionals (counsellors, domestic violence workers, mental health workers) that are involved in the case as required- Refer clients to different services depending on their needs- Provide emotional support- Assist the team with calls that come into the service, either from existing clients, professionals, or those wanting information about the service- Work as part of a team while still being able to work independently, especially due to covid where I was required to work from home
