As a graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, holding both a Bachelor of Science in Public Health (BSPH) with a concentration in Nutrition and a Bachelor of Arts in Medical Anthropology, I have cultivated a robust foundation in public health and nutrition sciences. My academic journey has been driven by a deep-seated passion for improving health outcomes through research, policy, and community engagement.During my time at UNC, I engaged in diverse research experiences, including public health and nutrition policy research, and biomolecular cardiovascular studies. These experiences have equipped me with a multifaceted understanding of health issues and the ability to approach them from both a scientific and sociocultural perspective.Currently, I am honored to contribute to the UNC Children's Healthy Weight Research Group as a research assistant. In this role, I support initiatives aimed at understanding and combating childhood obesity, and promoting healthy weight management. I am committed to furthering my expertise by pursuing a master's degree in nutrition and dietetics, to become a pediatric Registered Dietitian. My vision is to help children develop a healthy relationship with food from an early age, while being an advocate for food security.
