RITMOCORE (Arrhythmias monitoring and comprehensive care) is addressing the evolution in the treatment of elderly patients with arrhythmias using or in need of a pacemaker. The proposed approach promotes a comprehensive model of care including: empowerment of general practitioners and integration of care pathways through the adequate information sharing; remote monitoring of pacemakers; home monitoring of vital signs using wearables, Apps and available innovative devices; patient activation and increases the alignment of objectives among all involved stakeholders (providers, doctors, Hospital managers, patients).To achieve these goals RITMOCORE proposes to move from a conventional purchasing of devices to an innovative service provision able to complement the resources of the public service providers including: support centre for remote monitoring of pacemakers, delivering of pre-defined information sets to all stakeholders and professionals involved in the care path, integration and quality labelling of vital signs home monitoring devices and wearables and support for patient activation. The service will be based on a risk sharing model.

STOPand GO (Sustainable Technologies for Older People – Get Organised) is a Public Procurement of Innovative Solutions (PPI) Pilot project funded by the ICT Policy Support Programme (ICT PSP) as part of the Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme of the European Union.The project began in April 2014 and will run for 36 months.STOPandGo will elaborate a flexible procurement template which can be used across Europe to promote cost-effective commissioning of innovative services to benefit EU citizens at scale. The template embraces the use of the World Health Organization’s definition of “health” being “a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity” (WHO, 1946). Therefore the health services will cover both healthcare activities and social activities provided by formal and informal carers, including the promotion of self-care and healthy life styles. In addition to describing the procurement process, the European Specification Template will provide procurers with additional information about interoperability, legal ethical and regulatory, evaluation, and classification of potential beneficiaries of services.

TEIMA Audiotex S.L. was a startup, a small high tech company focused (during the first stage) in Computer Telephony Integration. It was launched in 1995 by a team of nine researchers and professors. The entrepreneurial education of the university staff in Spain by this time was nonexistent and that contribute to make the challenge even harder.I started as researching engineer in algorithms development (1994) through several positions until managing director (1997). In 2000 we had a substantial market share, but that market failed to develop in Spain. In 2001 we shifted fields (Integrated Access Devices for telecom market) and got two expansions of capital from external investors. The dotcom crisis led us to close the company in late 2004, yet we maintain friendly personal relationships with partners, employees, customers and suppliers
