I perform both written and oral Spanish interpretations and translations of all kinds (from parent-teacher meetings and school presentations to district letters and IEPs) at the request of practically anyone adequately within the Arcadia Unified School District.

​I was an intern in the Arcadia Unified Digital Communications Internship Program (AUSD DCI) for four consecutive years and held the title of Instagram Team Manager during the Fall 2021 semester, in which I was responsible of overseeing the Arcadia Unified School District's (AUSD) Instagram page (@arcadiaunified) and leading the DCI Instagram Team. AUSD DCI is an integral part of the AUSD Communications and Public Information Office. Established in the Spring of 2015, the program is designed for advanced communications and journalism students at Arcadia High School.The specialties covered in the program consist of the following: journalism (including broadcast, print, and digital), communications, video production, marketing, public relations, media relations, crisis communications, event planning, social media, graphic design, business and real world skills such as interview techniques, ethics and professionalism.

University Of La Verne

Leos Protecting Life is a student organization at the University of La Verne affiliated with Students For Life of America, whose mission is to recruit, train, and mobilize the pro-life generation to abolish abortion and promote non-violent alternatives that empower women, children, and families.Our purpose as a student organization is to holistically transform the culture on and off campus into one that loves and uplifts the sanctity of human life from womb to tomb.

I joined this invitation-only NSLS student chapter at the University of La Verne to further develop as a leader, grow within a supportive and success-oriented community of peers, and create a lasting impact on campus, our community, and beyond.

During the Fall 2023 semester, I had the opportunity to work within the Cultural Awareness and Social Inclusion Committee of the City of La Verne (CASI) as a part of the Compassionate La Verne Committee (CLV) subdivision alongside other leadership-driven, amazingly talented students. Our task was to create from scratch the first-of-its-kind, end-of-the-year, city-wide holiday celebration that uplifted cultural diversity and fostered a sense of belonging and understanding within La Verne. I was mainly responsible for social media endeavors, aiding community outreach efforts, pushing marketing and publicity measures, and establishing contact and relationships with various community members to make the event possible. I was also able to lead and contribute at team meetings.The CLV had to not only understand our tinier team community to harness individual strengths for different tasks, but also understand the community at large to make sure the event was resonant and relevant. We had to make a great effort to understand what cultures are prominent within the City of La Verne, who was likely to show up, and how to facilitate cultural discussion and education for attendants. Being able to learn about the beautiful intricacies of the community was thoroughly enriching, and sharing about my culture with others as a Latina through this Cultural Festival was both refreshing and meaningful. I truly believe we positively impacted the City of La Verne, heightened its sense of connection, and that our event is the beginning of a yearly legacy. La Verne’s City Council seems to agree (see attached video from 01:34:45 to 01:35:32).All in all, I’m beyond grateful for this experience and the mentors and peers I got to work with. I learned the behind-the-scenes work to put together an event of such magnitude and was reminded how, even though the event was for the community, we needed from the community to bring it to fruition.

I am incredibly grateful to have been selected from a pool of well-qualified pro-life leaders from all across the nation to form part of this fellowship program.As a 2022-2023 fellow with Standing With You, a non-profit initiative by Students For Life of America, the ultimate goal was for fellows to implement a lasting effort within a year so that student moms and parenting students at their universities have and are aware of resources available to them, and know that they are not alone in their campus.For my year-long fellowship project, I created the Leo Baby Pantry Project from scratch. Through fundraising efforts, support from students, university staff, fellowship mentors, and the local community, there is now an established bi-annual distribution of free baby items for pregnant and parenting students at the University of La Verne. I am committed to upkeep and further develop this project as an exiting fellow and to ensure it keeps thriving even after I graduate.
