Atmospheric Residue Desulfurization Unit "100000 BSPD"Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) is one of the largest refineries in the world with a total plant capacity of 800000 BSPD. Place: Mina Abdullah Refinery (MAB) , Al-Ahmady, KuwaitAtmospheric Residue Desulfurization Unit comprise of reactions section and fractionation section , The heated feed oil is mixed with hydrogen-rich recycle gas and passed over a series of three reactor beds at high temperature and pressure. In this process, the feed contaminants such as sulphur, nitrogen and metals are reduced. Hydrocracking, hydrotreating and aromatic saturation reactions leads to production of lighter products such as Naphtha, LPG, Diesel and LSAR (low sulphur atmospheric residue) which is purify in fractionation section.
