Hi! My name is Sofia and I am currently a senior at the University of Tennessee studying undergraduate Supply Chain Management with a concentration in international business. Something that has always been very important to me is being a good communicator. I saw this skill firsthand translate over to my job working in ocean exports this past summer. I consistently communicated with my bosses and employees at other facilities to help them achieve important KPIs. Another skill that I see show up in my everyday life is stepping into roles of leadership within my community. One of the first jobs where I learned to begin doing this was when I worked as a camp counselor. While this experience was many years ago, I have only seen my interest in management grow exponentially. I was able to fully practice this skill through my job as a pool manager a few summers ago, and heavily enjoyed being able to interact and represent my coworkers to corporate. In addition, my leadership mindset comes into play within my college groups. I am a Young Life leader at a local high school, and I hold a few leadership positions within my sorority that cover diversity, equity, and inclusion. I love being able to lead in a way that is representative of all the individuals in my community. As a student hoping to procure a job out of college in the next year, I have spent a long time pondering where I hope to be in the future. A few of the things I am most interested in currently are the inner workings of the supply chain/ocean exports, learning how to be a confident manager, and diving into consulting.
