Research Assistant, Tundra Ecology Lab
Vancouver, Canada
Field AssistantI spent 5 summers (2017, 2018, 2021, 2022 and 2023) living and working at a remote High Arctic research site at Alexandra Fiord, Ellesmere Island, Nunavut (79°N). During these field seasons I helped collect a variety of data - on plant traits and phenology, soil moisture, species-area relationships, wildlife, thaw depth, and glacier retreat - for long-term studies by the International Tundra Experiment and other researchers. I also planned and conducted my own research projects for my MSc and undergraduate theses.Lab Assistant I assisted the Tundra Ecology Lab's PhD and postdoc students with labwork - for example, DNA purity testing and germination experiments of Arctic plant species at UBC’s Beaty Biodiversity Research Centre.
