I started my teaching career not so long ago, but I already have a lot of experience in this field. A year ago I worked as a teacher's assistant in Vilnius. I worked with Ukrainian students who (because of the war) started studying at a Russian-speaking gymnasium, and my duties included:Teaching - control of attendance and class work. Every Monday, I wrote down the schedule of problematic lessons for each student and helped them with these subjects, for example, we made a project or presentation together in history or English, or translated terms from Russian into Ukrainian (many students studied in Ukrainian schools).Support in the classroom - due to quarantine and war, many students (8-11 years old) could not go to school offline, so they had problems with basic subjects. I came to the students' classes and we worked together.Psychology - Together with a psychologist, we organized meetings to discuss impressions and experiences, which helped the children get to know each other. It made them feel more comfortable and less lonely.Excursions - on my initiative, we went to museums and master classesLanguage clubs - I believe that when you move to a new country, you need to learn their language out of respect for the people who live there, and many students had intentions to stay there in the future, so I taught Lithuanian lessons a couple of times a month.I had a lot of fun and a great experience working at the Sofia Kovalevska Gymnasium.I am currently working as a programming teacher in Ukraine. In this position, I have gained many new skills such as:Understanding and approaching each child individually, they are all different and interesting in their own way, someone is active and loud and the other is quiet and invisible, someone loves a lot of attention and the other does not want to be touched once again. Each student needs his or her own approach, and I have learned how to do it.I have mastered a lot of new knowledge such as Scratch and Game Design. I was a complete zero when I started working, and after 4 months I was teaching other teachers and giving advice. It didn't happen overnight, I spent many nights preparing for lessons and repeating the material, so now I know every lesson by heart, which allows me to choose different ways of teaching the topic and make it more accessible to each student.During the time I have been working at Logic, my students and I have become a small family, they share their chews and secrets with me, and I give them my attention and affection in return.
