My thesis work is focused on investigating confined aquifer dynamics under various climate change stressors such as erosion, sea-level rise, and storm surges. The responses of the aquifer system to these scenarios can help infer risks of contaminating freshwater wells on small islands. I am using HydroGeoSphere flow and transport models with coupled surface-subsurface flow and transport to simulate salinity distributions in the confined aquifer under the mentioned stressors.
