When beginning this project the company had no network, difficult workflow and insufficient computing power. At this point they are set up for network renders, secure document and print sharing and wireless access. I develop a number of small software improvements as well as building new workstations.Special effects production - green screen techniques, particle systems, 3D content and other more technical aspects of video editing.
Starting out as a junior webmaster, I became Director of Projects and Research in 2004. This position led to work with a wide variety of organizations with very different needs. It was thanks to my time at FlipSide that I was able to engage with a wide diversity of needs. We would take clients from small shops wanting web design to the cloud of day: corporate intranets and office automation. We did cloud before it was called the cloud. Ever try writing a scalable web service in 2003 off of SOAP, ASP without .NET and ODBC connection to client's Microsoft Access database? Yech. How about decoding Excel files to be transformed into a 'USDA standard floppy disk' format (ha!!) from the early days. Proprietary files didn't use to be so commonly in developer-friendly XML! That was my favorite, most fantastic feat of parsing to date, over a decade ago.Working with such a variety of concerns and seeing poor practices in large organizations taught me deep insight into direction technology needs to head. Got a great first taste of SLAs and taking best practices out of the tech lab and into the boardroom.
