Revature's career development program is a three-part training program that teaches people the skills necessary to make them viable in the software development job market. Afterward, it gives its trainees a job at a Fortune 500 company.If I didn't know Java and SQL before part one of this program, it would've taught me these subjects. Afterward, it gives its trainees a job at a Fortune 500 company.If I didn't know Java and SQL before part one of this program, it would've taught me these subjects. Since Ferris State University taught me about Java and SQL, this experience allowed me to brush up on what I learned from Ferris while learning new things about Java. These new skills include connecting a database to Java with a Java Database connectivity, connecting Java to its application's user interface with JavaScript Object Notation, Javelin, and HTTP, and using Maven to extend Java's capabilities. I also gained more experience in Git, PostgreSQL, Agile Software Development, and Test-Driven Development during this part of the program.Part two of Revature's training program also focused on preparing me for future clients. During part two, they taught me frontend development (with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and AngularJS) and ServiceNow, from the basics of accessing tables and handling incidents to advanced items such as scripting with business rules and client scripts, creating and transporting applications through update sets and ServiceNow Studio, and creating custom service portals and widgets. While they hoped to give to a specific client, I failed to meet their client's demands, and with no client looking for a ServiceNow specialist, Revature terminated my contract. Even though I didn't make it through all three parts of Revature's training program, I still learned enough to mold it into a pathway to a brighter future. Show less

This desk job blended guest services and security. Guest services like handling mail, providing trash bags, answering phone calls, delivering food, and submitting orders for appliance repairs. Security details patrolling the building, letting students inside their dorm halls, and documenting whenever somebody enters a dorm building without their ID. Student workers tend to serve their dorm halls, and throughout my employment, I operated in three honors dorms.
