Geowall Project ManagerAmerican Society Of Civil Engineers, Ucla Sep 2015 - Jun 2016I was the project manager of GeoWall at UCLA, where I manged a team of five to design and develop a small-scale retaining wall using poster paper and paper reinforcements. The 2015-2016 AY prompt also included design and build of a wooden structural load frame. which would enforce lateral loading onto the retaining wall. For the first time at GeoWall, I introduced finite element modeling to the design process which led to a less conservative yet robust design. Our deign report was ranked top 20 among the nations top schools and we placed 5th in the PSWC regional competitions. My team also managed to fund raise over $2000 to the project, the highest number in the past 6 years. I act as an alumni adviser of the project, which will be competing at the Geo-Frontiers in Orlando, FL.

Engineering AideCivil And Environmental Engineering Department, Ucla Jun 2015 - Nov 2015The goal of this project was to create an online, user friendly app for researchers around the world to access the test data collected by UCLA researchers. This project began by developing a UCLA modified format based on the universal AGS4 format to normalize data according to different laboratory and field tests. The online app could be used not only to plot and download related graphs in an easy-to-use interface, but also to download the metadata and selected columns of the test data. This app is still under construction and is expected to be fully functional by April 2016.

Field Engineer InternThe Whiting-Turner Contracting Company Jun 2015 - Sep 2015This internship was at the Hines/Concar project which involved construction of three 4-story commercial buildings by the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company. At this internship, I learned the necessary skills to coordinate and facilitate interaction between the subcontractors present on the field as well as different surveying methods for the quality control of civil work and related ACI standards for rebar reinforcement of floors, shear walls, and columns. My duties included making sure OSHA standards are met on site, enforcing Whiting-Turner's safety plans, attend to the subcontractors needs in terms of space and coordination between Whiting-Tuner or other subcontractors, quality control of the items to be inspected by the City of San Mateo representative and the Special Inspector, sending a daily report to the owners' representatives and help making a monthly report sent to the owners.
