Sol Jorge Moscol is a Peruvian-born musician who moved to Boston, Massachusetts at a young age. His story with the instrument began at age 13 when he first picked up a guitar. He proceeded to teach himself how to play by emulating his influences such as Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Nuno Bettencourt and others. By the age of 18 he had played countless high school and local concerts. He attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst where he had the honor to study with avant-garde saxophonist Archie Shepp. Upon returning to Boston he continued his studies at the University of Massachusetts at Boston, where he held the first guitar chair in the jazz band until graduation. He then went on to receive his Masters Degree in Music Education from the Boston Conservatory. Upon receiving his Master's Degree, he has proceeded to start Mascool Music, a small independent business that focuses on creating life-long musicians through the teaching of various instruments. He now continues to teach, arrange, compose and perform on the local funk and rock scenes.
