Women's Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) works globally to empower women to become active participants in the economy by igniting a network of women leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs to initiate startups, drive economic expansion, and advance communities around the world. WEDO Canada held its inaugural Women's Entrepreneurship Day Summit in Calgary in November, 2019. The sold-out event featured prominent speakers, business leaders, and change makers. In 2019, WEDO Canada was responsible for creating two student scholarships as well as a promising entrepreneur grant. WEDO Canada was also able to achieve the distinction of November 19th being officially proclaimed " Women's Entrepreneurship Day" across the province of Alberta.
