SolarBiotech provides Contract Technology Development & Manufacturing Services to Industrial Biotechnology players, in particular, to the Synthetic Biology emerging industry. I "wear multiple hats" including: leading the Technology & Business Development efforts; fundraising, finance & administration, R&D, and Industrial Plant operations among many other activities.

In this position I am responsible for delivering process solutions and new products on the basis of the company's core technologies in alignment with Arbiom's strategic positioning and targeted markets. I manage directors and VPs, technology development efforts with external partners, lead product developments, ensure industrialization of Arbiom's biotechnologies, participate in bioprocess engineering reviews, lead the Application Development Center based in RTP, and, I am responsible for new technology scouting and IP portfolio development.

In this new role I will continue to be responsible for the management of the Protein Chemistry Department in the US while I will be complementing these activities with R&D efforts in the Global Biotechnology Research Organization (the largest R&D organization within Novozymes) driving innovation in BioAgriculture (recent BioAg Alliance with Monsanto), in enzymatic products development for the Forest Products sector, in Biodefense, for which I have secured significant government funding, and in other areas of this organization.

As a member of the Site Management Leadership Team at Novozymes, Inc. I am responsible for all aspects of the company's management including strategic directions, budget, communications, HR development, safety, security, and R&D.

R&D of novel industrial enzymes and bioinnovations serving over 20 different industries including:- Development of latest bioenergy enzymes including the biomass enzymes CTEC3, HTEC3, and next enzyme generations. Selection and characterization of best enzymes candidates.- Selection of novel production fungal strains.- Development of new BioAg production strains.- New products pipeline development in innovative areas.- Government fundraising efforts.- Management of a diverse team of scientists.- Project leader in emerging areas projects.- I manage the team while I continue to work hands-on in the lab which allows me to be up-to-date with the new methodologies and technologies.

As a member of the Global R&D Bioenergy Management Team at Novozymes I am responsible for driving R&D strategic directions in traditional biofuel industries such as first generation biofuels (1G grain ethanol and biodiesel) and in emerging biofuel industries such as second generation biofuels (2G cellulosic ethanol and biomass biorefineries).
