Growing up I was curious about how air planes operated. Once I found out about jet engines, I knew I wanted to work on jet engines so I joined the U.S.Navy pretty much right out of high school. While going through training, I was introduced to the other applications of a jet engine, ship’s propulsion and for power plant cogeneration. During my service tour on the U.S.S. Lake Champlain CG-57 I worked as a Gas Turbine Mechanic in the forward engine room. Performing daily duties with steam plant operations and ship propulsion. After 4 years of working on the ship I wanted to experience working on Aircraft’s, I transferred to the Weapons Test Base in Point Mugu to work on F14 Tom Cats, while stationed there I obtain my A&P license. After a few years I have decided that the Aviation world is not in my interest. I wanted to return to plant operations as I was doing on the ship. I ended my career with the military and I decided to work for the Disneyland. Working for the Disneyland Resorts as a Facility Mechanic gave me the chance of learning a different industry. Throughout my career with Disney I have gained lots of experience and knowledge in the industry, also attending the Union training facilities. Through the Union I learned of BOMA and the other opportunities that are available. I got training in plant operations., motor controls, hvac, electrical building operation, after a couple of tries I successfully passed and obtained my BOMA Certification. Then I began to look for a job
