After graduating Kennesaw State University in May of 2018 with a Mechanical Engineering degree, I commissioned into the United States Marine Corps. From January to April of 2019, I attended the Logistics Officer Course where I learned the basics of logistics. For the next 8 months I would be the Maintenance Management Officer for 3d Battalion, 8th Marines (V38) where I managed the inspection, acquisition, disposition, and quality control for over 700 pieces of equipment ranging from weaponry, communications, and vehicles, worth over $50,000,000. I then switched over the Assistant Logistics Officer for V38 where I managed and supervised the support of the Battalions training, ensuring that the Marines get to where they need to be with the food, water, ammunition, and communication gear needed to accomplish their training. I was later the Maintenance Management Officer for 10th Marine Regiment. My mission was to track lagging key performance output variables while disseminating data to key stake holders in order to improve maintenance policies, procedures, training, and resource allocation. My purview included 6 maintenance commodities staffed with 120 Marine technicians, mechanics, and clerks that are responsible for over $50,000,000 worth of equipment.
