As a personal trainer with Emory Recreation and Wellness I do not simply write my clients workout plans and push them to try harder. I do my best to furnish them with the skills and knowledge they need to integrate fitness into their lives and be able to adjust their programs to fit their changing needs and environment. This involves education, demonstration, fielding questions, and giving them practice doing things on their own.

In this role I lead a team of young adults through a series of habitat restoration, invasive species removal, and land management projects in 6 city of Raleigh park properties over 10 weeks. My day to day responsibilities involved coordinating transportation, teaching the ecological function of the days work, explaining and demonstrating the methods for completing the work, and handling heavy/dangerous equipment as well as mediating interpersonal conflict and keeping the group working on time.
