My responsibilities consisted of seeking data, aggregating geospatial information, describing data assets, running data interpretation and reporting. Working on a project related to a single ion quantum state readout capacity for a quantum computing scheme based on rare-earth doped crystals. My task consisted in writing a Matlab simulation, and conducting a set of experiments directed towards measuring the saturation intensity of Ce ion. Measuring the saturation intensity enables one to calculate further parameters that will tell whether Ce ion is a good candidate for the readout scheme enabling the further development of a readout ion based quantum computing scheme in RE crystals.
