My saga of terribly named startups began in 2017 with Red Alert, an app designed to help women find the nearest sanitary pad vending machine, pharmacy or rest room. Still in my final year of engineering, I designed a retrofit for existing machines that makes them capable of cashless payments, whereas currently they only accept Rs.5 coins. Wise advice showed me that sanitary pads needn't be the only product I can sell through my technology. My desire to build a sustainable, low cost solution led me to engage with people and businesses across verticals, to better understand how to build a product that addresses their needs. And hence I founded V3ND Sol , with the goal of designing solar powered vending machines by 2025.For the past 2 years, I've been working closely with a handful of sustainable brands, foremost among them BubbleNut Wash, our first client. I've designed, prototyped and iterated automated dispenser machines for their all natural cleaning liquids, and we are now ready to take orders and deliver fully customized dispensers starting at Rs.5,000 ( $65 ). These will help reduce the plastic bottles that we consume, and will be operated by community champions, who will profit from bringing sustainability and convenience to their neighbors.I've been using this time to build Discover, a community locker and automated storefront that will allow people to trade with each other with convenience and delight. These hives will be the offline appendages of our new economy, allowing simple transactions and handoffs.
