Developed the following business opportunities over the past two years: Wireless power transfer system: Electric Vehicle charger system showcased in Delhi Auto Expo 2016; Experience in commercializing technology through partnerships, technology transfers and intellectual proprietary licensing. Conversant with the legal processes of collaborating with partners: nondisclosure agreements, material transfer agreements, technology transfer agreements and term sheets. Performed several technical due diligences for investments; evaluated value propositions of technologies for investments to ensure that target companies have compelling solutions. Kept abreast of technology trends in start-up community in the area of industrial technology, healthcare, clean tech and internet of things.

Driving innovation and technology developments in the area of electrical systems Major focus areas were wireless power transfer, use electrical machines to capture the health of connected mechanical systems, rotating field based electrical impendence spectroscopy, designing electrical machines for specific electrical or mechanical loads, applications of resonating and rotating fields, electromagnetic spectroscopy for diagnostics. Many of the technologies developed are in GE products and most of them are in the process of transitioning through NPIs.

Design and development of locomotive systems covering traction control, engine control, hybrid loco, auxiliary system control, RM&D, HITL simulator and a drag & drop locomotive system model.Developed, implemented and field tested the advanced traction system for locomotives. Led the efforts of Torque Maximizer 3 (TM3) using peak seeking and Kalman filtering algorithms. Currently TM3- advanced adhesion system is sold as premium offering with locomotives.Developed a radically different method of monitoring in-cylinder combustion of diesel engines using alternator electrical signals. The product has rolled out and currently in thousands of locomotives. Developed standards and software specifications for drag and drop simulation platform for locomotive system modeling. Developed the HILT platforms to validate the different locomotive subsystem controllers.

Fly-by-wire flight control system design of a multi-role fighter aircraft spanned over a decade from concept, system specification, system design, modelling & simulation, functional testing of flight control software, HITL simulation and system integration leading to the first flight.Led the design and development of pitch control system, boundary limiting control system, lateral control system for rolling the aircraft, and take-off/landing control systems.Developed highly reliable sensor system for the primary flight control system based on complimentary filtering and coordinate transformation. Formulated possible failure modes of flight control system and redundancy management algorithms. Designed controllers for failure modes and a backup controller for extreme failure conditions.Instrumental in developing a hardware-in-loop flight control system facility that integrates digital flight control computer, avionic systems, head-up-display systems and actuation systems of an aircraft.
