I believe in clean eating, sustainable living and mindful consumption, and that they need to become mainstream rather than aspirational.At the age of 23, while pursuing Chartered Accountancy, I found my passion for Food, and compassion towards the environment. While I learnt about the wrongful practises of the food industry and became more aware about clean growing and processing practises through the internet, the real "aha" moment was when I made my own Pesto sauce from her own homegrown basil and experienced the joy of eating what I grew myself!My journey in this field started with a certified course in Permaculture Design followed by grassroots work with the NGO - Aranya Agricultural Alternatives, where I understood the food system at a very basic level and realised that the real problem was that the urban consumer needed to be sensitised. I have hence worked with multiple start-ups in their conception and growth phase in a multitude of roles varying from Operations to Business Development and Relationship Management. I have also actively been involved in both the Indian and Local chapter of Extinction Rebellion, a global movement that strives to push for Climate Action on a Systemic Level.My work at my passion project, the Better Foods Farmers' Markets was where I realised my passion for sharing good food practises with a larger audience, while connecting with different food growers and producers and learning about their journey. It is this passion that drives me to create my own space here. I believe that accessibility to resources that enable conscious consumption need to be increased for it to become mainstream, and that's the gap that I am working towards bridging.
