I love to work with educators and support them to bring the best science education to their classrooms by adding perspectives that scientists and technology developers think are important. My responsibilities include identifying potential sources of revenue, advertising and marketing SciWri to them.I have led teams to disseminate relevant information to researchers worldwide by weekly newsletters such as below: http://www.sciwri.club/archives/3987And given it's a young organization I am a part of every endeavour, from identifying areas of growth and market expansion, analyzing product mix and distribution channels to advertising techniques, and selecting the right team of people to spearhead the projects.

Göttingen Area, Germany

I work in collaboration with DOW AgroSciences to test the effects of potential pesticides on insect hearing and the possible mechanisms of their action. I employ molecular biology and genetic manipulation techniques to alter the genetic make up of insects and see their effects on the auditory physiology of flies. I do electrophysiological recordings and calcium imaging to access the mechanistic details of insect audition.I guide and supervise an undergraduate student in her research dissertation and developing leadership skills.I am also a part of the editorial board of the annual students' magazine in Göttingen, GGNB Times that aims to keep graduate students in Neuroscience in Göttingen abreast with the developments and opportunities in the field.

Mumbai Area, India

I worked as a full time teacher of grades 6 and 7 at Deonar Colony Municipal English School, Govandi, Navi Mumbai. I was responsible for teaching all of their academic subjects as well as co-curricular activities like debating and preparing for competitive exams at the state and national levels. In addition, I built several collaborations with institutes like Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education - Tata Institute of Fundamental Research and Khagol Mandal to involve my students with the various academic and research activities conducted there. These collaborations also deeply developed my interest in working towards providing excellent science education to all. I have also worked in collaboration with LeapForWord, an NGO that develops content to teach English by people who have very basic skills in spoken and written English. I worked with them to empower young women in the under-privileged communities of Govandi to get trained in English and make them employable as English teachers for the students of the same community.

Göttingen Area, Germany

I studied the roles of axonemal dyneins in conferring motility to the neurons of Drosophila auditory neurons. I focused on the interactions between axonemal dyneins and ion channels in the fly auditory neurons. To address this I used genetic studies, electrophysiology of auditory neurons, protein extraction and detection by Western blot.I also initiated the studies towards understanding the novel roles of rhodopsins in the fly auditory system.
