Working with Professor Brittney Goodrich, we developed an online cost-benefit calculator for Navel Orangeworm in almonds. I contributed to grant writing and research related to pest management.

As a research assistant at the Agricultural Issues Center, I worked as part of a multidisciplinary team researching the economics of by-product feeds. A state producer group funded this work. Our by-product feeds research received national attention within the dairy industry and was featured in a national dairy magazine and podcasts. Another major project I worked on at the AIC focused on the economics of manure management, where I contributed to data collection, statistical analysis, and report writing. A state government agency funded this work. I also contributed to grant writing and several other smaller research projects on farm size, and drought.

Teaching assistant for Agricultural Policy. In this role, I taught two hours of class sections per week, held two hours of office hours per week, and graded class assignments and exams.

Market analysis of the crop protection and biotechnology industry. I worked for Phillips McDougal in the first year following the company's sale to Informa. I collaborated closely with two colleagues from the original business, management, and colleagues in Informa, as well as expert contractors employed to provide technical market advice during this critical transition period to ensure we continued to provide the best available information, data, and insights to our customers. In my role as a market analyst, I:- Maintained the AgrAspire database of chemical crop protection products and updated the database with 2016 data.- Developed the AgrAspire database into an online format to provide customers with market insights in an engaging, accessible, and navigable platform by beta testing with customers and consulting with software engineers on the interface, features, and customer feedback.- Engaged with multinational customers on global crop protection market topics via site visits, email, and teleconferences as part of our consultancy service and to support the sales team.- Supported colleagues authoring special reports with data insights, including engaging figures and tables, describing crop protection markets on a company, chemical, country, or crop basis.- Extracted data from product labels and chemical patents to enhance and update our AgriService directory of pesticide active ingredients.

As an Account Manager, I:- Delivered technical sales advice and built trusted relationships with farming customers in southeast Scotland. - Successfully expanded our company footprint through a marketing program that included event sponsorship, attendance at local agricultural shows, mail and telephone marketing, and farm visits, which led to meeting my annual KPI for sales of fertilizer, seed, and feed and growth of the business. - Responded to the competitive fertilizer and livestock feed market by pivoting my business plan towards high-margin grass and forage crop seeds. This was achieved by fostering close relationships with the supplier to negotiate promotions and using demonstration plots, which led to me becoming the top seller of seed.- Resolved customer issues with site visits to investigate product/production issues. By implementing mutually beneficial plans, we supported the long-term profitability of both parties, demonstrating our commitment to customer satisfaction.Led the development of the Intelligent Agriculture portfolio of products and services aimed at improving farm profit and reducing the environmental impact by offering independent, technical, and commercially sound advice and demonstrating improved returns. As Intelligent Agriculture Manager, I:- Led the development of a fertilizer app, including creating the agronomic model and collaborating with a software engineer colleague to develop the app to support the sales team and customers.- Purchased portable NIR machine for on-farm forage analysis to provide customers with accurate and timely livestock nutritional recommendations. - Implemented a series of fertilizer and forage crop trial plots with the backing of customers and suppliers to demonstrate product characteristics. Plots required regular monitoring, measurements, and forage quality analysis. I marketed the results of these demonstration plots to support sales representatives and customers in other regions.

Supported regional sales representatives by building leads with prospective customers across Scotland and Northern England through telemarketing. Welcomed customers to our trade stand at six agricultural shows through the summer months.
