I am a Digital Graduate at Watercare Services Limited. As part of this program, I have completed a 6-month rotation in the development chapter and a 6-month rotation in the data engineering team. My current team is the data and analytics team, which focuses on data transformation and financial reporting. So far, this program has piqued my interest in software development, particularly with the React library, as I enjoy working in a project-focused team with an agile approach. Data engineering has also given me a newfound appreciation for how hard data engineers work to make data readily available for internal and external customers of the organisation and provided me with in-depth knowledge of orchestration tools (Terraform) and data platforms (Snowflake).My educational background is a Bachelor of Applied Science, majoring in software engineering, and minoring in human resource management. This unique combination of study areas allows me to provide a technical perspective while highlighting the importance of people and culture. I am an incoming Master of Business Data Science student, where I hope to further develop data transformation skills alongside my professional experience. Both of these qualifications come from the University of Otago.
