This is due to the fact that the CNA is responsible for direct patient care and personal needs.Duties include but are not limited to: feeding responsibilities. Some patients will require direct feeding, while others may just need their meal tray brought to them and set up. Oral care, nail care, and basic hygiene. Bathing and dressing of patient. Bathing may take place in the form of a bed bath, shower, or tub. Toileting of patients. Often patients will need help with moving on and off of the facilities. Some patients may need help with a bed pan. Charting Catheter care amounts. Ambulation assistance. Some patients need help getting in and out of beds, wheelchairs, bathtubs, etc. Vital signs: Blood pressure, pulse, and temperature monitoring. Answering call lights. Turning of bedridden patients. This is done to take the weight off of pressure points and prevent bedsores from occurring. Changing bed clothes and collecting soiled laundry. Light cleaning and organizing of patient’s room or area. Relaying and charting requested information. This may include moods, vital signs, meal consumption, liquid intake, and daily BM and urine amounts. Relaying information to the next CNA on shift or to the nurse’s in charge. Recreational activities, such as assisting with a walk outdoors or delivering reading material to patients. Post Mortem care.

I handle eligibility for the Adult, dislocated workers and the youth program.Case managers help people who are in difficult situations with advice, figure out what kind of help they need, help them find the services they need, create plans for training or employment, work with other health and human service providers, and keep tabs on client's progress. Case managers need to talk with clients and understand their needs. You will also need to speak with others on your client's behalf, and act as an advocate for them. Good listening skills, and speaking in an understandable way and being a good communicator is crucial. Case managers will be working with people who are sometimes in dire situations or going through difficult transitions. Being compassionate to their situation and working with them in a positive way will help them make good forward strides. Case managers have multiple clients with various needs and are in various stages of need. There is a lot of paperwork that will need to be filled out and you will be working with government officials, as well as other workers. You will need to be organized and efficient with your time. Clients are looking for someone to help them find solutions to their problems. You will need to think critically and clearly about their situations to find solutions.

ARVAC Inc. is a nonprofit community action agency corporation established in 1965 to promote economic and social development of the region. The organization serves a nine (9) county area in the Arkansas River Valley. The agency’s headquarters office is in Dardanelle, AR. and has 10 satellite offices located throughout the area. I worked with everyone and learned everything i know from them! I worked with the receptionist, marketing, eligibility, accounting and monitoring. Lots of filing and general office work. I was put on payroll and after I left for college I was given a scholarship! I am where I am today BC of them. My main duty was eligibility for different programs. One program was the crisis program. The Crisis Intervention Program (a component of Li-HEAP) provides assistance with utility hook-ups, shut-off notices, and propane tanks that are below 10% capacity. Another program was Li-HEAP (Low-income Home Energy Assistance Program). The Home Energy Assistance Program is designed to assist low-income individuals and families with their heating costs in the winter and cooling costs in the summer. Individuals meeting the income guidelines receive a one-time payment applied to their utility bill. Individuals using forms of energy other than gas and electricity, such as wood, Kerosene, coal, or individuals whose energy costs are included in their rent, are also eligible for the winter program.SNAP recipients receive their applications for winter assistance in the mail in late December or early January and summer applications in June. Non-SNAP recipients must apply in person at their local ARVAC office.
