About Sommer Poquette

I grew up thinking I would always be a teacher. I bet my dad $100.00 I would graduate from college as a teacher. I won the bet, but after discovering blogging and social media marketing in 2007, I swapped the chalk for a laptop. I have spent over a decade working as a professional blogger, social media consultant, and online influencer. I have worked with award-winning PR and advertising firms on social media campaigns for large brands such as eBay, Verizon Wireless, Whirlpool, Method, and Stoneyfield Farms…to name a few.I have consulted with companies of all sizes and even commuted to Oakland County, California, for three years as a social media consultant for the Shaklee Company. I always joked she had the longest commute to work! After selling my Nielsen top-rated blog in 2018, I launched Keep it Real Social to help businesses of all sizes use social media marketing successfully. I enjoyed my three years working as a marketing director full-time for another company. Still, I was ready to work for myself full-time and use my expertise, knowledge, and passion to help many businesses. I love to help others, and I'm a teacher at heart.
