- Created the framework for the City's, and Orange County's, first Climate Action and Adaptation Plan to help the community understand the climate crisis, and prepare for a resilient response to the impacts of climate change. - Facilitated the “Cool Irvine” climate initiative to actively galvanize the community to reach carbon neutrality by 2030. In 2022, this program was recognized by C40 Cities as a case study on climate leadership that can be replicated to create safer, healthier, and more resilient cities- Furthered the City’s adoption of innovative sustainability initiatives, focusing on stakeholder engagement, to promote conservation of resources and implementation of best practices, including measures such as building electrification, energy storage, and food waste prevention and recovery. - Managed the staff and initiatives of the Environmental Programs Division, including development of short and long-range plans to achieve program goals, formulation of Division budget, pursuit of grant funding, and recommendation of policy changes to advance sustainability initiatives. - Oversaw implementation of the Strategic Energy Plan, incorporating measures to transition to a Zero Emission Vehicle fleet and decarbonize buildings, and create a vision for the community's energy future and a roadmap for sustainable energy use.- Collaborated with commercial, residential, and utility stakeholders to support formation of the nation’s sixth largest Community Choice Energy provider.- Utilized strong communication skills to facilitate the Green Ribbon Environmental Committee, a body comprised of City Councilmembers and Council-appointed constituents, and lead the cross-departmental effort to complete policy projects and provide staff expertise.
