I am driven by the desire to help communities adapt to the changing climate with equity and resilience at the forefront. The sustainability work I lead is recognized by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, Institute for Local Governments, and most recently by C40 Cities-Bloomberg Philanthropies for building a climate movement. My civic engagement expertise led to the adoption of environmental initiatives that foster climate action by local governments in both Los Angeles and Orange Counties since 2008. I previously managed the Environmental Divisions for the cities of Irvine and Manhattan Beach. I focused on climate planning, energy, and solid waste management strategies. I enjoyed coordinating across organizational teams and working with communities to design and improve sustainability programs that meet ambitious goals and serve as best practices. The municipal sustainability programs I developed are models for other agencies. I also strive to share my expertise and serve as a Sustainability Commissioner in my hometown of Long Beach, and contribute in advisory roles to the Renewables 100 Policy Institute and SoCal Regional Energy Network.
