Supported ICF's business development as technical lead/writer for proposal responses to federal RFPs with wins over ~$7M USD. Projects: led tasks for CDC’s DGHT's Scientific Integrity Branch’s Open Data Access Initiative - a project that seeks to pilot the processes needed to take federally funded data from their existing state to machine-readable non-proprietary formats to make it open access in compliance with federal and CDC policies. Traveled to Mozambique and Uganda with CDC colleagues to meet with high-level government officials to disseminate information on policies regarding open data and the role of this initiative. Created guidance and recommendations for DGHT, in collaboration with SIB Project Officer, on the suggested documentation to accompany data that is publically released - conducted systematic review of existing standards to synthesize information and make informed recommendations.For Tanzania Blood Needs Study: supported primary outcome publications and presentations; contributed to the final report, presented at the dissemination meeting in Dar es Salaam; presented "Real Time Quality Control and Data Management for the National Blood Transfusion Needs Study, Tanzania, 2013" at 2014 American Association of Blood Banks annual meeting and “Blood, Sweat, and Data” TEDMED Ignite talk at2015 DGHT Annual Meeting. For CDC’s DCH’s Performance Monitoring of REACH and PICH: as the reach Task Lead, calculated estimated population based, using SAS and Excel, on data reported from 114 awardees for CDC’s congressional reporting requirements; reviewed and quality controlled reach data for 1000s of objectives; created reports/infographics.

Federal contractor Technical Specialist embedded in CDC's Center for Global Health, Division of Global HIV and TB, HIV Prevention Branch - supported multiple concurrent research projects. For the Prevention with Positives (PwP) study: I automated SAS code to run real-time query reports, reducing report generation time from 2 weeks to 2 hours, per report; wrote and maintained new SAS code to aggregate multi-site/multi-country datasets into final analytic datasets for multiple projects, and run multivariate regression analyses and provide output for papers and abstracts for branch needs; traveled to Tanzania to conduct data quality review. For the Tanzania Blood Needs Study: reviewed the paper form used for data capture for transferability to an electronic data capture system and provided feedback for changes; developed a double-data entry application in CSPro with logic checks and skip patterns built-in to reduce data entry errors; created systematic procedures for data entry, capture, transfer (from multiple Tanzania collection sites to CDC) to ensure timely data collection; trained 22 data entry clerks over a one-week period to use the CSPro system; traveled to Tanzania to pilot the study; wrote SAS code to aggregate data and perform real-time data quality reviews; generated bi-weekly outlier and error reports for field staff; ca[tured corrections from the field in standardized manner with changes documented; created first analytic dataset within 6-months of study end – approximately 14,000 observations and 300+ variables; wrote SAS code for statistical analysis with study statisticianI conducted a gap analysis of a study having issues with data capture and entry: traveled overseas for a 2-week trip to assess issues by visiting study sites, exploring headquarters based data collection and entry procedures, and reviewing data quality controls in place; wrote final report to provide implementable recommendations based on information gathered during trip.
