I served as a Client Construction Project Manager on behalf of the Department of Engineering Service (DES) within the Ministry of Works & Human Settlement (MoWHS), which is now officially recognized as the Ministry of Infrastructure & Transport (MoIT). The project, valued at 403.960 million Ngultrum, centered on the establishment of fully self-contained quarantine centers situated in secluded areas in Samdrup Jongkhar. This initiative aimed to streamline the import of foreign workers, particularly for the hydropower and construction sectors, given the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The creation of these centers intended to relieve the strain on limited quarantine facilities in border towns and, additionally, to mitigate the risks of COVID-19 transmission and spread. This was achieved by avoiding the utilization of hotels located in the midst of towns and residential areas as quarantine facilitiesAs a construction project manager, I assumed various responsibilities, including addressing issues raised at the construction site, coordinating with the approving authority and the contractor for execution, planning and monitoring the project, ensuring quality assurance at the workplace, managing financial cash flow, and overseeing key personnel from both the client and the contractor.

As a civil structural engineer, my responsibilities included designing nationally significant structures such as the Royal Guest House and government office buildings. I meticulously reviewed structural drawings and designs to ensure compliance with standards and regulations. I conducted on-site inspections during the building construction to ensure adherence to approved drawings and norms. Additionally, I provided technical support to relevant agencies, offering expertise in structural and engineering aspects as needed.

I served as a Client Civil Project Engineer on behalf of the Department of Engineering Service (DES) under the Ministry of Works & Human Settlement (MoWHS), now recognized as the Ministry of Infrastructure & Transport (MoIT). The project, valued at 331 million Ngultrum, involved the construction of an RC Elevated Flyover bridge designed to regulate and scrutinize individuals and vehicles entering the country via road for national security purposes. The project commenced on August 5, 2016, and reached completion with full operational status on December 28, 2019.In my capacity as a project engineer, I was responsible for verifying the bill of quantity, facilitating coordination between the consultant and contractor for execution, planning and monitoring the project, and overseeing the quality of work and inspection of material usage at the project site.
