Sonam is an Assistant Professor at Centre for Sustainability, Mahindra University Hyderabad. Her specializations are in the field of environmental sustainability, geology, geomorphology, hydrology, remote sensing - GIS and geospatial science, sensitivity of biodiversity in fresh water systems to changes in water flow, temperature and substrate characteristics, and geospatial data analysis. She has worked extensively on projects related to understanding the interaction between landscape morphology (landscape and local scale terrain morphometric characteristics) and the resultant processes (geomorphic and hydrological- erosional and depositional mechanisms. Currently her interests are in areas of environmental sustainability, environmental flow modelling, sustainable river basin management practices and socio-hydrology, linkages between biodiversity and landscape characteristics, and sustainability reporting. She is passionate to use her skill sets and scientific knowledge to drive sustainable development of earth for human well being.Sonam obtained a B.Sc.(H) and an M. Sc. in Geology from the University of Delhi, Hansraj College.
