Project Description: Luang Prabang Hydropower Project is a run-off-river hydroelectric project along Mekong mainstream. The project, initiated in January 2022 and ongoing, is located in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR, and is owned by CH. Karnchang (Lao) Company Limited, with CH. Karnchang (Lao) Co., Ltd. serving as the EPC Contractor. The project is intricately designed, featuring seven turbines, each yielding 200 MW, and three auxiliary units tailored to utilize water for fish attraction flow, thereby adding an extra 60 MW to the total power output capacity of 1460 MW.
