Developing comprehensive Employment Program for clients of transitional housing. Assisting people in transitional housing in seeking meaningful employment. Assisting with interview skills, job search, resume’ and cover letter composition, work readiness information and networking. Establishing relationships with local employers on behalf of clients. Working with case managers and direct service providers to ensure that clients’ needs are met. Managing on-site employment center. Connecting clients with community resources. Administering interest inventories and career assessments to clients to assist with determining an appropriate career path that meets self-sufficiency requirements according to locale and family size. Assisting clients with access to educational and funding opportunities. Knowledge of issues surrounding homelessness, domestic violence and human trafficking.

Provides individualized supervision and instruction to assigned students and additional support to the core classroom staff. Works with assigned student(s) to implement their Individualized Education Programs/IEP and/or Individual Transition Plan/ITP. Assisted instructors with training students in the following domains: community, vocational, recreation/leisure, domestic, daily living skills, health/safety, self care, self-determination, social skills, and academics. Provided persons with disabilities assistance, specialized training and integration services for targeted, individual, community-based employment. Then locate an employer with an available position that can be worked with for the clients success. Developed specialized training based on the individual’s abilities for the position. After assessing the job itself, created a focused work plan to help the employee to perform the required functions of the position. Explained needs with the employer, and helped them to supply technological or physical assistance needed for the client to be successful. This individualized service helps achieve self actualization and status within the community.Gave presentations at Virginia State Conferences, Local Chamber of Commerce events, Employers active in the community, Department for the Blind and Vision Impaired ( DBVI ) , Arlington Community Services board, George Mason University, George Washington University, Capitol Hospice, and local schools, to build relationships to strengthen individually targeted, community-based, supported employment and bridge the gap for employers and clients to attain a workplace structure suitable for all.Follow-up with employers regularly to discuss placed worker performance, reasonable accommodations, performance plans, and assist with any additional training or support needed.Met reporting requirements for Medicaid as well as state and local rehabilitation agencies. Conducted team meetings involving individuals and their support coordinators and families to improve services, plan for future services and resolve issues. Assisted clients with accessing appropriate mental health and community living services as well as training opportunities when necessary.
